Great swim diaper!, May 27, 2016

I bought this swim diaper because we cloth diaper, and I wanted something reusable for swimming. I have a tiny 9 month old, so I bought the 12 month and it fit well. **These diapers definitely run small, so buy a size up!
My daughter loved swimming in the diaper, and she was comfortable wearing it. The diaper didn’t gap anywhere and holds in poo very well. The diaper has adjustable snaps on the side, which make the diaper VERY easy to adjust and take on/off – an excellent feature for the diaper! I’m very glad we didn’t experience any leaks with this diaper, and I would buy this diaper again.
The color didn’t fade in the chlorine swimming pool, and I just hand washed the diaper using Tide and reused it he next day. It worked wonderfully! Also, empty pocket diapers work well for swimming if you don’t have a swim diaper handy. Swim diapers are made to hold in poo, not urine, so an empty pocket also works well!

SIZE UP! RUNS VERY SMALL., April 13, 2016

Love it, and it’s cute but it runs very small. The one I got is supposed to fit up to 24 months, and my daughter at 19 months has almost outgrown it. I only bought it when she was 17 months, so we are not going to be able to get our money’s worth out of it. Definitely SIZE UP!

Way too small, size charts are way off, but if you size up, willl do its job, March 17, 2015

I initially received the wrong color/style and wrong size but Amazon did resolve my issue-great customer service!

Now onto the product review-I couldn’t justify giving this more than 3 stars because the sizing is SO incredibly off. I used both the iplay size chart on their website and the Amazon size chart and I couldn’t believe how small the diaper is. My 13 mos old is off the charts, literally, in height at almost 33″ tall and currently weighs 23lbs. I sized up and initially ordered an XL(18-24 mo) which was good since I was mistakenly sent a 12-18 mos which was way too tight and small. Although she was still within the weight limits, it was clearly designed for babies with NO baby thighs BC these things would only fit on preemie skinny legs. They literally did not even cover her butt all the way up on the back. Terrible sizing, iplay!

UPDATE: I received the correct color/size (Zinnia/XL) for my now 14 month old. She used it the other day and it was pretty clear that even the XL size is way too small for her. She will likely only wear it for another rmonth before outgrowing it. I think iPlay is designed for children who are clearly average weight/height or below average. The strange thing is, we have an XL rash guard from iPlay that is TOO baggy and long. I don’t think their sizing is very consistent.

Bottom line: size UP, at least one size. If you can find it at a local store, I’d look for the right size there before trial and error through Amazon.

Update 5/5/2015: I don’t know why I got two more of these but apparently these are the best option vs other brands. After only 1 month of using the XL size, I ordered the next size up because the leg openings were cutting off my daughters circulation. The 3T is the next size up and it JUST fits. These are seriously the most poorly labeled and sized items. I would strongly suggest going up TWO sizes. my 15 month old is now 24 lbs and 33″ tall and it barely covers her whole bum and I can’t imagine these will last that long. Maybe disposables are the way to go for taller toddlers.
